Bridge City Law Firm | Portland
A few months ago, I got a call from a past wedding’s bride asking if I could drop everything for a last-minute quick photoshoot. The client? Bridge City Law Firm in downtown Portland, Oregon. Last week, I got to do a second, longer shoot with the whole group.
Let’s be honest—when most people hear “law firm,” they picture photos that are a little stiff for the sake of being “professional”. I hoped that they would be game for my goal, which was classic and professional, but with personal and approachable as the emphasis. With everything and everyone I photograph, REAL is the goal. “Actual people with personalities were photographed in this photo shoot*.”
*they were also not harmed
Luckily, this group was genuinely fun and trusted me to photograph them in an unconventional way. The shoot felt like hanging out with old friends. These attorneys are a delightful group of very human people—laid-back, snappy-smart, hilarious—who just happen to know everything about personal injury and estate planning. We spent the afternoon wandering Portland’s streets for branding photos that capture their personality. Then I turned their conference room into a pop-up studio for fresh, genuine headshots.

The takeaway for any business: Your headshots and branding photos aren’t just “content.” They’re your first handshake. Making your photos and marketing human and authentic makes you stand out from the crowd, and gives people a taste of what actually working with you would feel like. Bridge City Law gets that. Their new visuals scream: We’re expert advocates who don’t take ourselves too seriously.
