With all my branding sessions, my goal is to get you looking confident and natural. I want to create images that help stop your prospective clients in their tracks—something they are not used to seeing in this already highly-saturated photo and video world we live in. Photos that are executed with precision, warmth, and…humanity? are needed more than ever. I will often use diffusers and other high-powered flashes to create dynamic light. I was tasked with a “significant website refresh” for this branding session with Patrick Angel, a practicing lawyer in Lake Oswego specializing in medical malpractice cases. He was looking for some natural, in action shots, as well as some stellar portraits that would stand out on his website. Photos that could fully replace having to use any stock images, and could give an idea of what meeting with and working with him would be like.

I love doing website refreshes for lawyers, especially because all too often their sites are stuffy and impersonal. Letting prospective clients see the lawyer looking natural and approachable is how you get clients that stay. I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion.
